Dear Dana,
If there was ever an understatement, its the above entitled subject "Thanks". Its just that I don't have enough words to express my gratitude, as a Grandfather, father, animal lover, and just a male human being. I am frankly overwhelmed by your kindness, sensitivity, generosity, just the whole package, everything you are.
In my long life I have seen many examples of goodness, but now you have managed to jump to the top of the list.( kinda like you have put us at the top of your list) You have transformed our family, from mourning and grief to joy and anticipation. There just are no words. And all of this coming from a pure and giving heart, when there were other avenues that could have been, anger, impatience, just letting it all happen without doing anything, since even that could have been considered a reasonable response.
To turn a tragedy into glorious sunshine is more than simple magic. I can not adequately describe my respect, admiration, love and gratitude, but felt I needed to say something. It is nice to consider that our family will have a continuing relationship with you, and I promise you our ongoing care for Ivy will be ultra careful and sweet.
Your husband is some lucky guy!

Love,
AM - In loving memory of California Karlee (Gingy) and now Grandfather of California Ivy |

Hi Dana!
I have attached a few photos of Peanut and I dressed for our first assignment with the Sequoias. One of these should be great for your web site.
Peanut was wonderful! We brought a lot of smiles to many of the residents in the assisted living and nursing home facilities. Everyone was amazed by how gentle and calm our sweet girl is!!! She is such a natural!!!
We went to J's soccer game then to the Stanford mall afterward. What a full day! We ran into a woman and a few of her friends living in Atherton. One is currently on your wait list for a puppy! It was fun bragging about how wonderful Peanut and your other dogs are. We always run into admirers, particularly at Stanford Mall. I of course always let them know she is one of yours!
Love and thanks to you Dana!

Hi Dana,
We took this picture of Louie at the beach last week and couldn’t resist sending it to you. I tell everyone we have the cutest dog on the planet – because we do! He seriously puts a smile on everyone’s face! We love him so much. Hope the summer is treating you well.

Theodore (teddy), once Marley is amazing. He is confident, gregarious, comedic, sweet and absolutely to be adored. Thank you!
He has adapted to being away from his Woodside home very well. The first night he was here he cried for about 10 minutes in his crate before sleeping throughout the night until 5. Tuesday and Wednesday nights his crying lasted less than a minute after which time, his dreams were sweet. 'Exceeds expectations'. He and Kona, E's dog met and both dogs were good to each other. Kona has begun to set some boundaries and Theodore is catching on...his number one desire is to play, play, play.
We are both committed to improve on potty training. Were at about 50% success as we work at learning together, he is just so quick, in multiple regards.
Everybody simply loves this dog, the number one response to meeting him is, "he is the cutest dog I've ever seen
Want to take a moment to tell you how impressed I have been with your energy and willingness to find me the perfect companion. I know you worked extra hard to make this happen and I so appreciate it. Your business is classy plus and your commitment to the happiness, wellbeing and safety of all your creatures highlighted my experience working with you throughout this adoption process. Thank you so very much, I am very grateful.
Sincerely,

Hi Dana,
California Maya is doing great! We like the name Maya so much we are keeping it for her. You should have seen the sparkle and the huge smile on Rl’s face when I introduced Maya to her. Rl is in love with her as are we all. My boys from college are rushing home tonight to meet Maya and have been texting me for updates on her. We bring her everywhere with us so she can meet as many people as possible. She is like a celebrity and I have to be the body guard to keep the “paparazzi” back, just kidding we love the attention. She at 8 weeks has already gotten the “sit” command down pretty good, sleeps in her crate and knows to go potty in the backyard when we bring her to the potty spot. She is smart! Peter calls her his Lapadoodle and Napadoodle because she loves napping on his lap.
Thank you for matching us up with Maya. She is the sweetest thing and pretty mellow so far which is what we asked for. I will keep you posted with updates and pictures because I know you are as proud of her as we are.
Warmly,

Dear Dana,
She is so so wonderful! As I type she is at my feet scampering around.
H and I were just saying last night that we are so busy playing with her and having fun with her that we never take pictures when she is at her cutest! Last night she was whooping it up with Marjorie, our gentle giant bloodhound, and Daphne Hiba was draped across Marjorie's neck and shoulders while Marjorie was flat on the ground. It was adorable.
Daphne Hiba thinks that Marjorie is a large interactive chew toy. Marjorie loves her.
We are committed to taking photos this weekend and will forward them as soon as we can. She is calm, so sweet, so smart, and so loveable. We are really lucky. Her color is beautiful and those sparkly brown eyes peering out of the fur make one's heart melt.
As you can tell, our whole family is pretty much madly in love with her.
Thank you so much for making this perfect match!
Best,

Hi Dana,
Ava received her Certificate of Accomplishment and was promoted to Novice. She completed Beginner Obedience. She is showing signs of really enjoying and being quite good at agility courses. Our 8 year old granddaughter spent last week with us and Ava was so cute with her. At six months old, she is about 15 lbs and is 15 inches (shoulder height). I'll send some better photos to you next week. Ava brings Mike and I so much joy.

Hello Dana,
I hope this email finds you very, very well :) I wanted to pop in and send you over some pictures of London as today I looked at him and realized "Wow! He's all grown up". It would be impossible for me to thank you for all the happiness you've given to me by giving me London. M and I are absolutely in love with him. As Labradoodles are so popular now I see them all the time however, I really believe your puppies to be the cutest I've seen so far (I realize I'm partial being the mother to one). London has grown up to be the sweetest little companion. He listens and obeys very well and I can tell he is interested in making people happy. He definitely still has his puppy moments tugging at my shirt when he wants attention but those times I find much more endearing than bothersome :) He was super quick to learn tricks and this summer quickly became a big fan of water- both the ocean and pools. He would have spent the past three months fetching his ball from the pool should we have had the energy to keep up the other end of the game! Most of all he is just such a little love. He is my little buddy. I take him every where I can- which seems to be practically everywhere. Thank you SO much for such a gift. If I can ever help in any way with referrals or recommendations of any sort I would be more than happy to help. However, I have very little doubt you are ever short of demand! In fact I've been asked more times than I can remember where I got London :) Here are a few photos of Londie over the past year and a half. I have pleeeeeeenty more where they came from so let me know if you every want to see more! He is quite a photogenic little man. I hope you and your family had a great summer.
All my very best to you,

Hi Dana.
Just wanted to have you catch up with Marley, now that he in a few month is going to be 3 years old. Oh my, time flies. He is all grown up now. He is doing sooooo well. And of course we love him more than ever. This year he did pass the "canine good citizen" test and has been listed in the canine good citizen archives. We are so proud of him. And we do continue to go to dog training. Right now we have started K9 rally. Not been to any competition yet, but he loves to do almost anything we ask of him. However we are considering search and rescue since he is very good at tracking things, and Mary Cortani (dog trainer) has tried him out for it, and think he can do it... but I am still considering since it is a big commitment. But we will let you know if we do it. I am sending you a picture. Weight is 25 lb. He has gotten a little lighter than when he was a puppy, but still looks smashing. Hope things are good at California Labradoodles with all of your wonderful dogs and your family.
Hi for now and sincerely.

Yasmine!
Hi Dana,
I wanted to write and tell you how in love we are with our little puppy! She is so incredibly sweet, funny and affectionate. We have re-named her Freya, after the Nordic mythology goddess of love, and it fits her well. We are working on the house training, and if there are accidents, they are generally our fault. She is adjusting to sleeping later in the morning, and basically wants to be with us and part of the action at all times. She is the first thing the kids talk about in the morning, and the last thing at night.
She came to "show and tell" at K's school, and couldn't have been more mellow and easy going about having 22 Kindergartners clamoring to pet her. We have had a 3-year birthday party her too, and she took that in stride. Last weekend we took her up to Point Reyes, and she loved running around up there!
The vet was thrilled with her, and very impressed with your thoroughness. She just had her next round of shots, and we have a trainer come to give us pointers. She does the "sit", and would probably do more things if we were pushing it. We are planning to start puppy training classes soon.
She is basically an all out adorable little ball of fluff, and it is impossible to walk more than five steps (with her in a carrier for now) in our neighborhood without being stopped. We love the Apricot, and cannot imagine her being different in any way.
Thanks again, we will stay in touch!

Best,

Hi Dana- hope you are well. All the puppies look beautiful! Just a quick note to let you know Ollie (Ca Wally) is doing great! He's 5mos now, 17lbs and super friendly and mellow. We love him! Hello Dana,
Hope you are doing well!
Last July 2009, we picked up our Puppy Kalen (formerly Toby) who is the pup of Mommy Venus and Daddy Ozzie. We wanted to send you a few photo's taken recently to show you how wonderfully Kalen is doing and what a great loveable buddy he is to our 7 year old daughter Jaden.
We couldn't be happier with Kalen. He is now 32 lbs (will be 1 on May 23rd 2010) - he is extremely playful, cuddly, funny, and gets tons of attention from everyone he meets, and goes to our daughters school several times a week. The school has basically "adopted" Kalen as their mascot. He is so good with kids that we hope to get him into a therapy program when he's a bit older (still working on his manners)
We recommend California Labradoodles often. Take care and hopefully we'll see you if there is ever another planned Doodleromp.
PS - If you want to post any of these photos on your site, please let me know and I can have Kenny send you the originals.
Best regards,

S,K and J L - Owners of California Toby, now Kalen
--- Seriously, Dana, it is CRAZY, how many people stop us and ask to pet him, (especially when we go shopping at Stanford Mall) People tell us he is the cutest and softest dog they've ever seen, and we, of course, have to agree! We'll give him a hug and a "frosty paw" (his favorite doggy ice cream treat) from his first love Dana. See you at the Romp.
Photos coming. Take care!

Hi Dana,
Honey is just a love. We couldn't have imagined a better puppy. She hasn't had any accidents yet. Peeing and pooping outside. She just wants to be held and cuddled. Just like a little baby. She is just adorable. The first day she was very apprehensive and subdued. But, each day she is showing more of her personality and starting to play. We are both very pleased with our choice of breeds AND BREEDER and feel very lucky to have been blessed with Honey. Our Vet asked for your name, because she wouldn't hesitate to give your name to anyone asking about a Labradoodle. We gave her your website address.
Take care and we'll keep in touch.

Hi Dana,
...She couldn't be a better pup and she's adjusting to her new home like you couldn't believe. We of course, just adore her! I think I'm going to have a hard time coming back to the bay area...my parents have bonded and want to keep her!!! Just like you said, my dad (he's a vet) says she's in great health from what he can see. She plays so hard with their golden retriever Emma, then naps hard. She hasn't lost her loving ways though....anytime you pick her up she snuggles so hard!! Since Wednesday we haven't had any accidents. She's even gone to our back door to tell us herself that she wants to go to the bathroom. She's slept through the night every night....only with a few wimpers the first night. We let her sleep in her crate, next to the other dog.
I've attached a few pictures that I think you'll like. I'll give you more once I've downloaded them. All in all, she's perfect and I adore her. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Talk soon,

---Hope all is well! Wanted to show you some more pictures of Nellie (Jalapeno). She's just over 3 months now and has gotten SOOOO big. Hi Dana,
What wonderful puppies you have! I wish that I could have a little female. Venus( Bogart's sister) has a beautiful litter. Enclosed is a photo of Bogart. He is FANTASTIC visiting assisted living centers, hospitals and the library. Bogart loves to show off. He sits, stays. goes down, waits. crawls, runs thru the tunnel jumps thru hoops( two in a row), walks around with his entire body covered, finds it, and he will be be doing " the shell game". Everyone can tell that he is young(22 months) because he is so eager. As soon as we start to visit one on one, he becomes totally calm. He allows anything, rough petting for example and he does NOT even eat crumbs etc. on residents laps. He is really AMAZING.
Best Wishes Always,

MP - Owner pf California Bogart (Bogey)
p.s. I have had a grooming lesson and I do a better job grooming than I had done in this photo. He loves the attention.

Dear Dana,
I will send you more pictures. I don't know how to work the picture set-up. We celebrated Bucky's 2nd birthday on September 30th. We love Bucky so much. He is the best dog - not even a dog - our favorite family member. Bucky has a wonderful life. He is never alone. We live near the park where he loves to walk. He also has a country house where he runs free. Bucky has a funny personality. He makes us laugh. We want to thank you so much for putting so much joy into our lives with Bucky. My veterinarian, during the first visit said that you took very good care of him. Bucky is a star in our neighborhood. Wherever we go people stop us.
Thank you so much for Bucky, and we will send you more pictures.
Keep well with your family.

I just wanted to send you a quick picture of Louie. He is so sweet and good. A trainer is coming next Wednesday to help us learn how to train him, but he is sleeping through the nights and getting lots of love. Hi Dana.
Wanted to check-in and let you know that Olive (California Keepsake) is doing great! She has fast become an integral part of the family, well loved by all. She seems very comfortable, relaxed and happy.
On the practical side, she loves her crate and is sleeping through the night, rotating between our bedrooms. Her house training is going quite well. She knows her potty spot outside and uses it if her owners get her there. We are mostly hitting it...only one accident yesterday. So far none today. She is eating, drinking and playing without incident. Fetch is her favorite. The kids have been quite successful in teaching her the sit command. Treats work wonders!
Her vet appt was successful. A perfect checkup and she was very comfortable with the vet.

Hi Dana,
....Crispin (Calif Simply Irres. aka Izzy) has kept his color beautifully, as you can see, and weighs in at about 17 pounds... his hair is exactly what I hoped - kind of rasta curly not tight poodle fuzz. ... Most importantly, C has no allergic reaction whatsoever.
----Crispin is such a treasure, worth every penny, we love him so much, thank you!!
....Okay, our boy Crispin is so hilarious & full of personality, people actually say things like "He reminds me of my cousin D!"
He is quirky & fun, has several good dog friends and has heard so many people say "That's the cutest puppy I've ever seen" I think he believes that's his name.

...I really wanted to email you Dana, as I have had so many compliments about the nature and gentle disposition of the puppies. I had to let you know and thank you. I love having them in my family - they are just so giving and well behaved. No-one can believe they are puppies. They trot around town with me, following one foot behind, tails wagging. They are house-trained, don't bark, sleep all night long and walk straight to their beds at night. They are so calm - the groomer was really surprised as one dog would just sit and watch her grooming the other. Then they swapped and the other would watch.
I am sold on my labradoodles and am completely in love.....

I just want to tell you that you were right on all accounts. This is one special puppy!
He's slept through both nights in the crate! I carried him around in the puppy carrier a good part of the day yesterday. He met everyone at school and couldn't be calmer. He already knows to pee in the bark area. And that face, well I just can't say enough....
....Thanks for adding so much happiness to our household

Maggie turns 6 months old this week and she has had a great summer so far. These four pics are from our trip to Yosemite last week. She is a great camper. I have some pics of her kayaking too. I will try and get them developed and send them to you. They are on a waterproof camera. We love her! And our Sadie loves her too. She is the smartest dog we have ever known! She loves the beach as much as we do. We take her to the dog park where she meets other dogs to play with. She was completely house trained at 3 1/2 months. She looks up to Sadie for the house rules (most of the time). Hope all is well with you and your family (and extended family). We could not be happier parents of our baby girl. Thank you!!!

Letter of Reference from Maggie Mae's family:
Our journey began on what started out to be a fairly normal weekend one year ago today (November 6, 2004). We tend to start our Sunday's slow at my house. Reading the paper, drinking coffee, checking out the view from the deck can last two or three hours depending on how lazy we feel we deserve to be. But that Sunday morning an insert in our local paper had an adorable picture with the headline "The Perfect Dog?" Our life was about to change forever. The article was about a new popular 'mixed breed' called Labradoodle. The more I read the more interested I got. It seemed like a fantasy dog half Poodle and half Labrador. Really smart yet goofy and playful. The article listed a website for the International Labradoodle Association, Incorporated. The site featured several 'Approved Members of the Labradoodle Association' including California Labradoodles. After I investigated several web sites I came back to California Labradoodles for several reasons. Dana's website was the most comprehensive and I couldn't take my eyes of the pictures of Lacey, Buddy, and Poppy. Also, California Labradoodles specializes in miniature Labradoodles and are only three hours from our home on the Central Coast. We had been researching different breeds of dogs but only decided three things for sure. We wanted a small female pup with a great personality. I emailed Dana at California Labradoodles asking some questions. She got back to me right away with answers. After about a dozen emails back and forth (Dana was and continues to be patient and understanding) I completed the application and sent it along with the required deposit. Then the wait for Lacey to have her litter began. Between November 2004 and the day our Maggie Mae was born (March 6, 2005) Dana kept us informed and emailed right back if I had questions or concerns. Finally the second week of May we made the trip to Woodside California to pick up our puppy. Dana introduced us to Maggie Mae and it was love at first sight. She was too cute with her red hair, green eyes and pink nose and lips! Dana was wonderful! She acted as if she had all day to answer our questions and show us around her fabulous property. The grounds are immaculate and the 'guest house' where the puppies live was impressive in its cleanliness and spaciousness. By the way they are cared for it is obvious that Dana and her family deeply love all their dogs. Maggie is eight months old today. She is more fun that we could have ever imagined! She is smart, playful and ready to try anything. We took her kayaking and she loved it. Without any training she just started playing Frisbee on the beach. She is great with voice commands and was completely house trained at 5 months old. I could go on and on. She has stayed pretty small at 17 pounds right now. Our vet tells us she might get a little bit bigger over the next couple of months. We could not be happier with the whole process of becoming Maggie Mae's parents. In fact we decided this week to put an application in for another Labradoodle puppy! Why just have one when you could have two!! Sometime in January 2006 Dana tells us we will have a brother for Maggie Mae. She can't wait to meet him and show him around some of her favorite places.

I added 2 pictures to this album. We had Roxy groomed last week. She looks very different with eyes! I have to tell you that the goomer said Roxy was the best puppy she has ever groomed, and she has been grooming labradoodles for 20 years. The groomer we found is actually from Australia. She was very impressed with Roxy.

Hi
What fun meeting you!
You're amazing, bright, competent, and very kind too. And there's more, but that is gooey enough!
Poppy (Née Lucie) is just doing fine here. She had a moment of nervousness when we got home, but that didn't last long.
She is a sweetie! She follows me around the house, but is always ready to be picked up. We're both in love with her already!
We've had her out in our doggie area - including a news paper area - several times, but still no pee. She hasn't gone since we met her. Soon, I'm sure she'll do it.
So thanx for saving the doggie with the underbite for us!

Just a quick update again on Teddy. She is the best dog I can imagine, and she's learned so much in puppy class. Can't wait until she gets all her shots so that we can take her on walks. I only have pictures with her and the girls this time but you can see how big she is getting.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi Dana-
...“Delicatessa” (we are trying that name) is the most perfect animal. We are all in love. I know it is soon for pictures, but I wanted to share this one from today.
....Deli is now one of the pack. She and R play constantly. D, our older girl thinks about getting into the play, but then leaves it to the youngsters. Deli is as warm, gentle smart and sweet as you said she was. She does have a thing for jumping in the water bowl. I guess we will get her a little pool, because after a while a flooded kitchen won’t be so cute---now it is priceless.
...We are going to call her Deli because she is delightful and Delicious.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful puppy. I will give her a hug from you.

Take Care,

Hi Dana,
Everything went just terrific at Augie's vet appt. I took that last 2 fecal specimens in with me and they were clear.....
...Augie was handled by 2 vet techs, Ted and another vet he has working for him and the front desk. Well, Dana, you know Augie. He just was mush in there - even with the smells and sounds. And just laid on the table and loved getting checked out. HA! I massage him, mess with his ears, paws, tail, head, etc all the time so that he experiences getting messed with. He LOVES IT! hahahahaha. He is really funny! And you are so right... that tail is always sweeping back and forth.
...Nothing bothers Augie. When he is playing, he is really playing and when he is relaxed, he is really relaxed.
...Oh, and he knows his name really good now. He will follow me around and is intrigued by anything new. It is like he is memorizing things and where things are kept in here. He is astonishing smart in my opinion. I am constantly amazed by him. And he loves to be picked up or lay on my lap or right next to me. ...Puts his head up by my neck and buries it in, looks up, slurps or kisses, and goes back to the neck bury. ...And he hasn't met a dog yet that he doesn't think is just about the greatest thing on earth. I keep telling Augie... all of them can't be your new best friends. Be a little bit judgmental. Some behave better than others! :)
...Anyway, he passed his vet appt. with flying colors and I just wanted you to know.
Sending my extra slurps and snuggles to you,

TA – Owner of California Huey (Augie) |

Dear Dana,
I can't believe it has taken me so long to send pictures of Jackie to you. Now I have to confess why: I couldn't take a picture that adequately reflected his "cuteness". I have tons of pictures of Jackie, but he is so much more adorable than any of the pictures. So, I'm going to send the pictures anyway with the understanding that he looks nothing like the photos.
....We are all having a great time.
....L. was walking Jackie the other day. A woman stopped her car and yelled out the window " That is the cutest dog I have ever seen. What kind is it"? ...Jackie has that effect on people. I will definitely refer any admirers.
....I guess my favorite moment happened last night. Freddy broke down in tears at dinner. I took him to the family room and held him as he sobbed. Jackie leaped from across the room into my lap. He pummeled me with his back legs while he dug at Freddy's face with his front paws (Freddy's head was buried in my shoulder). He then proceeded to lick his face frantically. Freddy laughed and the crisis was over (for now).
Thank you again for our adorable puppy.

Hello Dana.
How are you? We hope you and your family and all your wonderful labradoodles had a happy easter.
We are doing great. Zeke, or Marli as we call him, is doing soooo good. He is almost 10 pounds now. Going to puppy class and doing very good in everything. Potty trained now for 3 weeks, and now we are working hard on all the basic stuff like "stay" and "let go" and "leave it" and he gets it fast. Still calm and content and he still has the most lovely temperament I could ever ask for.
He can stir up a little bit of a crowd in the pet store or anywhere I take him. Not a lot of people down here have ever seen a labradoodle, and now they are very impressed. So I cannot stop recommending Australian Labradoodles to anybody who cares to listen.
These three pictures are from today Monday March 24th. so this is how big and wonderful he looks now. We love him so much. You know why. I hope to see you at a doodle romp soon......
I hope things are well with you, I'll keep you updated with future pictures.
Thank you again for the most wonderful dog I have ever been honored to have.

Sincerely HC - Owner of California Zeke (Marli) |

Hi Dana.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and to all of your lovely Labradoodles.
Marli-Man is one year old now, and we could not be happier with him. He is sooo good and very well behaved. In the local dog park he is a rock-star. All the other dogs loves to play with him, he gets along with everybody, and their owners loves him too, since he is obviously very cute and soft , and well behaved and he knows his stuff now, but best of all, he listens to his mom. So I am very proud of him. As you can see on the pictures he is all grown up and love to pose for the camera. He weigh in at 24 lb. on his one year birthday 11/30/08. We,of course, will be at the next DoodleRomp, and I have met a lady here in Hollister who also have a Labradoodle, but have never heard about the Doodleromps, so she will come too.
Have some happy holidays, and please let Fudge know how wonderful her puppy is doing and how much we love him. See you some time next year.
Merry Christmas from

Hi Dana,
Sorry for not emailing sooner... .We are just ecstatic. The first night was
fine... He slept on my bed of course . He is such a bundle of playful joy
.. I had R my friend's husband who is also our vet come over and check
him out... Everything is A OK.. It is so great I have a friend living down the street who does housecalls...
K and I have named Nutmeg .. He is now BRODIE...
Your potty training is a delight to see immediately.
I bought the puppy absorbent pads for the floor and he goes right on them.
Has only missed once and that was the very first night..
We can't tell you enough how we love him and look forward to watching him
grow and yes i WILL SEND PICTURES.
He is also showing signs of being quite smart. K's friend's dog Bella
who visits quite often was showing off her tricks yesterday .. Brodie saw
that she got treats each and every time and so we did the sit command
to Brodie after a few times he got it.. and then got a treat...
We were so impressed... He is eating very well... I got the exact same food
as you had put in the bag ...
i COULD GO ON FOREVER TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH WE ADORE HIM!
I love his coat, his colour everything.
Finally the breed's personality is such a winner, colour and coat are incidental, because once you have this love bunny
in your arms your heart melts with joy....
Thank you again for what you do and the great dogs you raise and I
will stay in touch.....

Hello Dana,
Here are some pictures of our wonderful Simba. He has transformed our family life and is involved in everything we do. He is playful but often mellow and cuddly. We know we are biased but we think he is the cutest dog in the world as well, and are often told so by strangers.
I still go home to play with him every day at lunch! We have so much fun.
He has also learned a lot in training, and my daughter has taught him some cute tricks as well. Soooo smart!
see photos of him attached!
Thanks!

Hi Dana,
I'm sending you a recent picture of Murphy Brown (nee California Zoe) . . .sitting on a private plane heading from San Diego to Sonoma.
I can't tell you how happy we are with our new addition. She's got a sweet personality, is smart, friendly and so much fun. We get stopped by strangers every where we take her, all drooling over how adorable she is and wanting to know "what" she is. I've given your contact information to a few folks (at least two of which I think are serious about getting a Labradoodle - one that swore he had no place in his life (he and his wife have 5 kids!) for a puppy, but who's fallen in love with ours), and I hope they follow through as I know they'll be enchanted, too.
She sends her love to her mom, dad and litter mates . . . and to you and your family, of course!
We can't thank you enough - she's the best!!
Warmly,

Dear Dana
Here is a photo of my sweet pup Mandy and me. She is truly a delightful companion and has enriched my life so very much. We enjoy our walks together and our playtime. She is very good natured and so very smart. She is easy to train but sometimes loves to get in to mischief. She now weighs 20# and is about 17 " tall. She is a very good traveler in her platform seat which is safety belted in. Couldn't have asked for any pup that would have been better.
Thank you so much for matching us up.

Cordially, WG - Owner California Morning Star (Mandy)

Dear Dana,
Mandy and I walk with our neighbor friends and their furry friends each morning. This past Tuesday one of my walking friends took her camera where our sweet furry friends were all invited to romp, off leash, on their new Astro Turf Lawn. I wanted to share this with you so that you could see how adorable she is.
You can see Mandy, Morning Star born Nov 20th 2006, She is the sweetest, smartest and loving companion anyone could possibly ask for. I love her sooo very much and she has made my life so very enriched with her by my side most of the time unless I am traveling. When I travel she goes to a doggy hotel where she romps all day with other dogs 25# and under and then she has her own bedroom complete with TV where she may watch cartoons. She seems to enjoy it there, but loves home much better. Home is where we are most of the time and she has a wonderful yard complete with a Koi Pond and beautiful flowers and a great real lawn to romp on.
She is a very happy and loving doodle.

Hi Dana,
Time has been flying since King is with us and he has become an important member of our family. Everybody loves him and he still attracts a lot of attention wherever we go. He is the cutest dog. He is curious and intelligent and so well behaved that it is hard to believe that he is still a puppy. He hasn’t chewed up or destroyed anything, and he was fully house broken after a couple of weeks. He has a doggy door and moves in and out of the house as he likes. But what he likes best is snuggling with us, or just curling up right at our feet wherever we are. He is very mellow – almost lazy – but likes to play wild dog when we go outdoors. In summary, he is almost too good to be true. .......
Best regards,

Dana and boys,
We couldn't be more pleased with Bogey. I have read Caesar's new book, Monks of New Skete puppy book and bought the on line clicker training program. The clicker training is fantastic. Bogey has been here 11 days . He sleeps all night. Is 90-95% trained for going to his bed, sitting( at the door prior to coming in and when he wants attention & prior to eating), going to his "house"(crate), and potty training. He comes almost all the time when called. We also ring a bell each time we go outside. He has been meeting people also. Although, we still need more people in our house to be distractions while he is learning.
Initially, it was hard to justify his price. However, by now, we see that there is no doubt that he is worth every penny. All that meet him feel as if he will make a GREAT therapy dog. He is so loving.
Thank you so very much, HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!

MP and LP - California Bogart (Bogey)
p.s. He loved the tricker-treaters. He enjoyed all the attention and didn't care about the costumes! |

HI Dana,
Just wanted to let you know how well Goombah is doing. He passed his
Canine Good Citizen test today and is now certified with the AKC.
The instructor said he was very young to have passed and was very
well trained. I took him to the dog park to slow him down. When I
said "Stay" and walked away from him, he looked at me to say "No
Problem and while I'm at it, maybe a little snooze." LOL. He is the
smartest dog in the world.!.....Thanks for the Goombah d'oro. Life without him is unthinkable.

I would love to provide you with feedback on California Labradoodles! I got Bella from Dana last year and everything about the experience from beginning to end was amazing!
Upon entering California Labradoodles, I knew this was a place where dogs were happy and loved. The environment is spectacular! They have a lot of grassy areas and a field to run and play in, the outdoor doggie play area is spacious, the house is filled with toys and the whelping area had everything a young puppy could want or need. The amount of love and care Dana gives to her dogs is apparent in the home environment she provides for them. Her dogs are very loved members of her family. Even the puppies who eventually leave for new homes aer treated with love and care. Before entering any area with puppies I had to dip my feet in bleach and wash my hands - just a little testament to the attention to detail and protection Dana gives her dogs.
Every time I came by to visit Calfiornia Labradoodles, I could see that Dana had devloped a relationship with each of the puppies in the litter, as well as in the other litter that was getting ready to go to new homes, and that she knew their characters and traits very well.
Bella came to me at three months old. She was almost potty trained and knew the sit command. She was well groomed and healthy. Dana showed me how to care for her - how to clean her ears and cut her nails - and sent Bella to me with a little stuffed toy and some treats. Again, small actions that show much she cares for each individual puppy.
Dana has always made herself available to me whenever I have any questions about Bella or Labradoodles in general. She is very knowledgeable in every concern regarding Labradoodles. I feel she is among the most ethical, knowledgeable and caring breeders and I highly recommend her to anyone who would like a Labradoodle.

Hi Dana,
....Yente is absolutely wonderful! What a sweet little girl. We blocked our kitchen off with toy boxes for a nursery, and she divided the evening between climbing up on laps for cuddles and chasing the little chew toy we got for her - and bringing it back every time! We can see the labrador in her, already. (Nero has always been highly skeptical of the idea of giving *his* toy to us.)
....We had a laugh last night when R warmed up his dinner. Yente followed him right to the microwave and then sat at his feet, nice as pie, waiting to see if he planned to share. We can tell this puppy's been around people and kitchens! We've taken her out in the yard at regular intervals to Nero's "spot" and she's been 100% perfect after her first coming-home piddle on the floor. She's on the way to being housebroken already. We're astounded, since it took Nero months and months and months (not his fault, entirelly. we didn't have a yard then.)
....At bed time, we put yente in her crate in the kitchen and she howled like the house was on fire - for exactly three minutes. Not another peep out of her until I dragged the poor thing out of bed at 6am. All in all, we're in heaven.
We took lots of pictures, but I haven't uploaded them to the computer, yet, so you'll hear from us again soon.
Thanks so much for sending us your little bundle of joy!

Hi Dana-- Hapa is doing very well, growing like a weed, going through the crazy puppy stage yet we have been able to instill the basic training and she's been through half of her puppy classes. We have a place in Carmel and she loves the beach and does well meeting the other dogs off leash and, while she is more often chased than chasing, she is very eager to greet them all. We are constantly approached in Carmel by people asking what breed she is and telling us how cute, adorable, etc she is. It's amazing how often that happens. People just love her (as we do--she makes my husband happy, which is what I'd hoped for since she was my birthday gift to him). Those people who know she is a Labradoodle say that she's the best looking one they have seen."

Hi Dana,
Well we are totally in love with our gorgeous little boy puppy, Zack. We have submitted an application and deposit for a second puppy, requesting a female this time. I did everything on-line and used pay-pal for the deposit.
We are just so deighted with Zack. He is just such an adorable cute little guy. He is doing excellent with sleeping thru the night in his crate. He is doing really well with house training and in general just charms and delights all who meet him! Thank-you. We look forward to getting notification about our female.
Anytime for the second, when ever one becomes
available that you think would fit. We know the books
suggest waiting but we are ready to make the extra
effort to give both puppies the time and attention
they need in the early months. ...We certainly understand how you became smitten with these dogs and moved toward becoming a breeder. We feel so fortunate to have you located
nearby. Zack is a poster boy for your breeding program
and we can't tell you how many folks we have directed
to your web site. Thanks for everything,

I have been asked to send you information regarding my experience with California Labradoodles and California Emmy.
I had been researching Labradoodles for quite some time and through our neighbor, I was recommended to Dana. From the first moment of contact I could tell that Dana was extremely knowledgeable and someone that I would be interested in getting to know. California Labradoodles is located in Northern California very close to us, so I went right over to meet her. The Family home and site of California Labradoodles is beautiful. The home is on a several acre piece of property with rolling Hills and Large mature oak trees. The mature Adult dogs are in the main house and are always very close to the family and the new mothers and their puppies are in the quest house which is also Dana's office. This set up is wonderful because it keeps the dogs close to Dana all day and they become very comfortable with people. The Adult dogs and puppies sleep in her children's bedrooms; she has three Darling boys that are as crazy about the Labradoodles as she is. Both the home and guest house are spotless. When I adopted Emmy, Dana was very careful to make sure we were the type of family she wanted for Emmy. She came to visit my house, spoke with my neighbor and checked on the care of our previous dog with the Pet Hospital.
Now a bit about Emmy. She is curled up at my feet as I am writing this, exhausted after a walk around the neighborhood. I usually play with her in the yard; there is lots of room for her to run. I take her out in the neighborhood every other day or so, just to show her off. She is always perfectly behaved and sits right next to me when we are approached by anyone. She gently sniffs other dogs and children but only when I tell her it is ok. Emmy is very gentle with my three grand children ages 1, 2 & 3, my brothers children, and my own 15 year old. When Emmy was a little puppy I would take chew sticks and bones out of her mouth then pretend to eat them and then give them back. I did this so that she wouldn't snap or growl if the kids were to bother her while she was eating or chewing on a bone. She loves them and seems to have a sense that they are small and she should not jump on them or knock them over. Of course I am teaching the children to stay away from dogs when they are eating but luckily with Emmy she could care less and never feels threatened or bothered by the children. Emmy is very social and especially happy when we are all home and giving her a lot of attention. She travels well and accompanies us when we go to our home in Palm Springs. Emmy is a bit mischievous she loves to hide her bones in the couch and she steals anything left on the floor that shouldn't be there. Emmy doesn't bark other than a brief warning and she is happy when left alone for short periods of time. Emmy is extremely smart and as cute as a button.
I would highly recommend Dana and California Labradoodles and would be happy to speak with anyone interested in a Labradoodle.
I will send a photo in another e-mail after this I can't figure out how to attach them to this e-mai.

Sincerely, KH - Owner California Emmy |

"Hi Dana,
Just thought we'd share some recent pictures of Barley (aka Zulu).
He's doing very well and happy, and is fantastically chill. We got
constant comments on his temperament and training and have given out
your website a few times.
These were taken this last weekend by a friend of mine visiting:
As you can see he's developed a little bit of an amber tinge, which we
think is great. He's still very soft and cuddly.
Would you mind letting us know when the next romp is - we'd love to
see his other family members.

Hi Dana,
See you have lots of new puppies. We had Embers (Lacee) picture taken for her first birthday. I'll send you one. She is doing very well and she is very spoiled. D... takes her everywhere and only eats at dog friendly places. He is over the top. I'm thinking about getting him another one. I like the look of Ozzie. We tell everyone to get there puppies from you. Lacee is a head stopper. She is well known in Willow Glen. She goes to Pete's coffee every morning. She has her own little fan club and they come and visit her there and at D's business. Thank you so much for breeding such good dogs.

Dana,
Dear Dana,
Hope you are well. Here is Coco on her first birthday. She has kept
her beautiful brown color. As her hair gets longer she has red
highlights and we have noticed just recently that she is sporting a
few white or cream hairs. Hard to tell. She has been a great dog.
Super smart and easy going. She has been on a few trips with us and
we take her lots of places when we are home. Wherever we go people
always comment on her and how beautiful she is. I have had lots of
inquiries on where we got her from. She loves her toys and I walk her
3 miles a day where she runs into lots of friends. When she sees a
new dog she goes down and waits until they get close and then prances
on them. She weighs around 16 or 17 pounds. She is very spoiled. In
fact there was hardly anything at the pet store to get her for her
birthday that she didn't already have.
We love her dearly and so does everyone else. She has a fan club.
Take care and happy holidays!

Hi Dana,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you about California Delicious. He is now almost 6 months old and we named him Piper. Piper is an incredibly loving and playful soul and we are so lucky to have him as a member of our family. His favorite things are being chased at the dog park with his buddies or romping in nature including chasing lots of leaves and rolling in the grass or visiting our local beach. He is incredibly smart and curious which has made training challenging yet successful through work and patience. We hope to see you at a doodle romp in the future and plan to get a companion for piper from california labradoodles in the near future.
all our best,

When we pick him up he is such a snuggler... we love that. He is real comfortable and loves his dog bed and toys. Each person that has come over to our house has fallen in love with him.
Bandit is such a great addition to our family ! Thank you for such a wonderful puppy.

Hi Dana,
This is C's wife. I just wanted to let you know that I just love our little Sadie! She has made quite an impression on everyone she has met-what an unbelievable disposition. She went to a Christmas party (16 people) last night and a hannukuh (sp) party today (30+). Last night when we arrived home, she went into our room and went straight to her kennel, walked in and fell asleep. She is a delight and she makes us so very happy.
Thank you.

Hi Dana,
We are all doing great and Jolie is very happy!!! (and so are my kids!!!) I think it safe to say that she couldn't possibly be more loved. I am just having to back everyone off at times so she can have some downtime to rest. She really is a VERY special girl.
Sleeping is going EXTREMELY well. Both nights, she essentially walked into her crate on her own and went to bed. The kids ended up waking her up out of excitement at 6:30...Jolie probably would have slept longer. Instead of breeding her, you might consider cloning her (just kidding here in case the humor isn’t translating in email).
...she is a complete love. She plays with pure joy and snuggles like none of my kids ever did. She watched the movie “Snow Buddies” last night with us by a roaring fire and was content as can be taking turns sitting on each person’s lap. As I am typing this my ten year old, whose birthday is on October... just came in to tell me that on her next birthday she wants to share a cake with Jolie that says "Happy Birthday S & Jolie" - safe to say that everyone around here is in love. Even S who was the hardest to convince on this subject is amazed at how good she is and after the kids go to bed can be found lying on the kitchen floor playing peek-a-boo with her.

a very good watch dog. We are totally in love with her. Thanks for

Dear Dana,
Harley is great, he sailed through puppy class, graduated top student and has already started intermediate class. He does all the commands with ease, of course only when he wants to. He is a fun loving guy and somewhat of a prankster, he will grab something of mine, usually something I need and run then hide it, sometimes never to be seen again.
He gets alot of attention when out walking, I know you have already heard from one neighbor and I gave your email to another one recently!
Can you believe he is now 5 months old and weighs 24 lbs! I will get my neighbor to send you more pictures. He still plays daily with Nelly Rose, and walks about 2 1/2 miles a day! If we don't get our exercise we get into all sorts of trouble!
Talk to you soon
Best Regards

Hi Dana,
Hope you're well. Judging by the pictures on the website, you're probably VERY busy taking care of all the new puppies!
We wanted to send you a photo of Tucker we took last weekend so you can see how much he has grown. We took him to our home in Tahoe-- the first time he has traveled anywhere outside of Hillsborough. He is a great little traveler!
We love him dearly and are still surprised at how much joy and happiness he has brought to our household.

Thanks Dana for the kind words. I know I've told you this a zillion times, but I just love Vinnie. I've wanted a dog of my very own for such a long time, ever since my first childhood dog died while I was away at college. It's a dream come true for me, and training Vinnie is definitely the highlight of every day for me. It's also been wonderful for J, who never had any pets as a child. He's head over heals for Vinnie, and I love watching my two guys play together. Fetch is their specialty. I can't wait for the next time you're able to see him... he's growing up quickly! We're having a play date with M and M's dogs in a couple of weeks, which should be a great time for all.

Hello Dana,
Phantome has really settled in. I think the picture speaks for itself. She is sooo smart and loves to cuddle. She also loves to play fetch, and is really good at it. She has been so good about going outside, and has already learned to use her doggie door here. We are currently looking around for a good puppy class for her to start once she gets her next round of shots. We have also taken here out and about to meet people in the neighborhood, and everyone has fallen in love with her. We will send more (higher quality) pics, in the coming weeks. Thank you again for everything!

Thought you'd like to know that we're celebrating Grady's 1 year birthday today with all his doggie buddies and lots of brisk walks with ball throwing. Grady is thoroughly adored to the point where he's clearly the most loved member of our family in the eyes of our children. And that's quite OK with us.
Grady is a wonderful gift in our lives. Thank you!

Hi Dana,
Rex ( California Waldo - parents Lacey and Mitch ) will be two years old this September 15th and we would like to add another labradoodle to our family. I've attached two pictures of our little Rexy baby - he is a joy to all of us!!!! The best personality and snuggler!!! I've never known a dog to "spoon" someone but he has an uncanny ability to jump into anyone's bed, do a little half turn in the air and snuggle down in front of the person laying in bed so that they spoon him. Hilarious!!
He's also very smart and was easy to train. People laugh when they see me carrying him around on my hip like a child - he's just like a little boy but in a dog suit!
Anyways, I could go on and on about Rex but I'd like to see if there are still available spots for an upcoming litter. My youngest daughter got to pick out the dog this time and she wanted another labradoodle .... but would like a girl. She's already picked out the name "Lucie" or "Lucy" and wants everything to be pink!!! She's been online picking out pink dog beds, pink collars, pink toys, etc.
Can you help?
Thanks,

Hello Dana,
Just wanted to give you an update on Honey. She celebrated her first birthday with her two best friends, Bella and Sadie. She's very social and enjoys being with her friends! She's about 20 pounds now, and she's so much fun. Her favorite game in the world is fetch - she never gets tired of playing. She's also a great cuddler when it's time to be quiet. Just wanted to let you know that she's doing great!

Hi Dana,
Roxie has been fantastic all afternoon and evening! She has cycled through play/sleep about four times and had a blast running around our back yard with O part of the time and playing inside part of the time. She seems very happy and playful with her tail wagging. Every once in while she runs to me or O for snuggles and reassurance and then happily resumes playing. She only whined a little when we sat down to eat dinner but then settled down and went to sleep. She went potty outside a bunch of times and we had no accidents inside!
Roxie is sound asleep in her crate in O's room and she only cried a little bit off and on for about three minutes. O fell asleep about 20 minutes later so all is quiet.
Roxie is wonderful and we are all crazy in love with her already. Even O's grandmother who visited today is crazy for her. She is just the sweetest little love bug. We will send pictures soon. Thank you so much for such a lovely, yummy little puppy.
Sincerely,

CB - Owner of California Roxie |

This dog owns our hearts and like you said he's very smart. He's pretty much the best in the classes we've taken so far, and the instructor is always pointing out to the class that what Hershey does is what they are striving for. He also has a big vocabulary. He fetches; finds: ball, frizbee, toy, shoe. Obeys sit, down, come, drop it and stay. Goes to bed on command. Hasn't pottied in the house since he was 3 months old. Barks at the door to go outside. We're currently working on longer time stays with distractions, and come at a greater distance with distractions. He loves everyone and isn't bothered much by anything - no anxiety; keep having play dates with all sorts of dogs and kids of different ages and take him everywhere I can. He's very well behaved.

Hi Dana,
I just wanted to let you know that California Sugar -- now known as Sadie Rose -- is doing wonderfully in her new home here in Oakland. She is such an adorable pup and has weathered MANY visits from friends and neighbors with great aplomb and much friendly licking! She's sleeping through the night in her crate and loves to hang out there for her naps or in my lap or under whatever chair I might be sitting in. My girls, E and R adore her and actually quarrel over who will feed her, who will hold her, who will take her out to potty. Sadie is getting a lot of love -- she's a fabulous girl. Thanks so much!

Wishing you a happy vacation with your family. I wanted to thank you for Summer. What a joy she is. She has settled in instantaneously and beautifully. She spent her afternoon exploring with that wonderful, intelligent curiousity and played with her new family and toys with abandon. She had a little walk on her leash down our street where she was so curious about every thing she encountered, demonstrating appropriate caution at times but never fear. She ate her full supper and willingly went "nite-nite" into her crate at 9:30pm where she slept all through the night until 6am. Yay!!! Just as you said she would! She did her business outside in the morning and has spent the morning entertaining us with her comedic side. She is very playful, funny, and loving, and oh-so-smart! In the words of Taylor, "she is perfect" and just the puppy we've been waiting for and hoping for.

Hi Dana -
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you that Ottley is wonderful! He is now twelve pounds and a complete sweetheart. He attends Puppy Kindergarten at SF Puppy Prep, which we all loved. Each week, I take Ottley and one child with me for some fun. He graduates this Saturday, and we are so proud of him! He is smart and has learned so much these past weeks. We have also done private training at the house with Ottley and the kids.
He enjoys walking E to preschool in the morning, and he loves riding in the car to pick up J and C in the afternoon. He comes to baseball games and loves fetch in the backyard. He does really well playing with other dog friends. He is playful and bouncy. We can't imagine our family life without him! Jack (8) recently taught him how to 'shake' with his paw. It's adorable.
Thank you so much for everything you did for him when he was tiny. He has such a sweet disposition, and we know that your care (and your sons' care) played a big part in that.
All the best to your family,

Hello Dana
Nice to hear from you. Here are some pictures of Perseus. You may remember he passed his first birthday in June & it was celebrated accordingly. And again in August, which was the first anniversary of his joining our family. He is a beautiful, gorgeous dog & much loved. He has grown wonderfully up - a sweet disposition & has been very easy to train (we did puppy class, Family Dog I & II & some sessions with a private trainer) & seems to have grown out of his adolescent punkiness to mature into the best, and sensitive dog ever.
My daughter also wants to add a few words (as his major caregiver/trainer/companion):
Persy is very sweet, he has been punky lately and very cute. When we walk we get about 20 compliments on how cute he is. I have been training Perseus for a while now, he knows: sit, down from a sit and stand, high five, roll over, shake, were still working on stay and come. Persy loves to swim in the ocean, but doesn't like pools, and his new napping bed is my bed, he comes in and curls up there is a picture bellow of him doing that. ...
thank you for our wonderful dog!

Hi Dana,
He is 18 pounds pure joy hidden under mounds of soft, golden fleece. From his black button nose, to his caramel-dipped ears, to the white racing stripe his rear end - he is the cutest thing! I need to have your business cards with me every time I take him out for a walk... Or maybe I need to print up cards for Ollie. People always asking his name, his age, his breed, where I got him, etc... he's just a rock star around here. .
... Again, we can't thank you enough for Ollie!!

Hi Dana,
I have been wanting to update you on Bandit. Today is his 1 year birthday! I have attached some pictures that we have taken over the last few months. I have alot but, will only attach some ( 7 ).
Bandit is the best dog W & I have ever had. He has something special with each of us. Bandit is with me the most ,since I am a stay at home mom. He likes to keep track of where I am at all times. He loves to watch sports with W (he actually watches the tv) and meets him at the door each night for some great scratching & rubbing. Each morning he goes out to potty then straight into C's (12 yrs old) room to snuggle up with him, for an hour or so until everyone is awake. C (9 yrs old) & Bandit play hide n seek and chase .. he loves these games.
Bandit stands up to his name , he steals things all the time from the laundry bucket , towels from kitchen counter (to play tug a war, we win). He will wait at the dryer while I am doing laundry to see if anything falls out , so he can grab & run away with it .. one of his favorite things is the Bounce dryer sheet. He is the most curious dog we have ever seen. Absolutely everything we are involved in,he has to check it out thoroughly.
We purchased a little plastic pool for him this summer to play and cool off in, he loves his pool. Trying to fill it up can be a challenge if he is around because, he loves the running hose more than the pool. He will take it out and shake it and bite at the water. He also has a strange fascination for chewing on sticks, roots, anything wood ..outside. We found a groomer that listens to us and does not groom him like a poodle :o).
Bandit is sweet, adorable, very funny and has a wonderful temperament. C has not had any allergic reactions to him at all! He could not be more perfect for our family.
We check your web site frequently to see if Dreamer or Cody have added to Bandit's family tree. We see that Dreamer just had puppies a short time ago, they are darling. We hope this email finds you & your family doing wonderful.

Hi Dana,
Thought you might be interested in how California Jelly (our Molly) has grown into a yearling. She has been a wonderful little puppy and we have enjoyed watching her grow and develop. We constantly get compliments on her looks and demeaner (needs a little more work on behavier however she is a bit spoiled). She is a great traveller, both by car and motorhome, having put on a few thousand miles in her short lifetime. You have done a great job in your breeding and we thank you for the opportunity of making a home for one of your puppies.

Hi Dana - sorry it's been a while....I've been kinda waiting to see if a "crazy puppy" is going to emerge (everyone keeps warning me) but so far Oliver is the best little guy. So sweet, gentle, connected, confident, playful....should I go on? He is just great. Our trainer said he's been training Australian Labradoodles for a long time and "I know you paid a lot of money for him but he's worth every penny!" He gives strangers kisses, he loves his new big brother cat Taz and he gets to hang out with Nico and I almost 24-7. Doing great on potty training, working on leash, sit, down and high ten. We'll keep you posted on our little lovebug.

Hi Dana- thought you'd enjoy this pic from this afternoon. We've decided to call him Oliver (Ollie). And no I didn't get any names - it wasn't until the drive home I realized that it was kinda weird. We have our first training session and vet appt tomorrow, will keep you posted. Already we're amazed at how smart he is!

Dana,
Thanks for your email earlier with all the info, I really appreciate it. Oliver is doing great with his potty training. He spent the morning bonding with Dad and played lots of games. He goes to his bed and his crate on his own to rest and chew his toys but his favorite spot is resting literally on our feet or in our laps. We are falling in love with Rosie's sweet boy :)

Good morning Dana,
Our first night with Heather - now known as Lucy was lovely. She is a very sweet little girl. She is very attached to Zoe and my daughter couldn't be happier about that! She snuggled with Z and both Z and the puppy fell asleep together on the coach at 6 PM for an hour (big day for both of them).
Last night when we were having dinner she wimpered quitely to let us know she wanted to go out. You were correct - she slept quietly her first night - not a peep out of her from 9:00 pm until 6:00 am with no accidents. We brought her right outside. We fed her breakfast and back outside again.
She is a very sweet girl.
Thank you so much. We are all in love with her.

Hi Dana,
Just wanted to let you know things are going great here with Zavier, now Rufus. He is a delight. The kids and their friends are wild over him and it is so funny to watch him try to engage our more serious schnauzer--it is a great balance.
Rufus has been to the vet and checked out perfectly. He has been sleeping and eating well. He has already had a few backyard play dates at our place with some neighborhood dogs. Basically everything has gone as well as I could have imagined. Thank you so much again for this wonderful puppy I'll attach a photo of one of my sons with the two dogs.

Hi! Dana,
We have been working on his 'Stay' and 'Wait'. So, today Jane took him out for a walk and he wouldn't go out the front door until she said 'finished' then he sauntered through the doorway for his walk. He's getting much better at not pulling on the leash. He mostly just walks right next to our sides.
DF - Owner of California Yada, now Segunda

Hi! Dana,
Sorry, we've been crazy the last couple of weeks, so between 'Gundo and family we've been up to our eyeballs. He has grown A LOT! Last week he was 15#. I wish I had measured his length and shoulder height when we first got him because I swear is he over an inch taller and probably 2 inches longer. Of course, with all that hair, he looks like he must weigh 30#. He loves to be with his 'peeps'. He always follows when we go to a different room, if only for a second. When I returned today, after 3 days away, he licked me all over, went to be sure Jane was coming in, and then resumed his licking.
He's SO SMART. For over 2 weeks, if we were playing fetch, and he didn't get whatever fetch object we were using, back to us, if we sais "Where's your toy?" he turned back and went to get it. He is really good about dropping the fetched object at our feet (or within 2-3 feet. About 10 days ago, his crate door had swung closed and he wanted something in there. He noticed that when he bumped the door, it bounced back. He bumped it a couple more times and then stuck he nose in the door just after one of the bumps. the next day he whacked it with his paw to get it to bounce open. The next day he used his paw and claws to get it open.
He loves to try to make friends with other dogs, but is a little leary if the dogs are aggressive acting, but usually wins them over if given enough time. He and the goldendoodle are fast friends and love to chase each other, play fight and play tug-o-war until they can't move any longer. He befriended a terrier mix rescue doggie that the owner was concerned was unfriendly. Now he and the g'doodle romp as a threesome sometimes.
He has no trouble with 4+ mile walks up and down steep hills. Then, on returning, he wants to play chase or whatever. A couple of hours later he is ready to play with the neighboring dogs. I can't wait to take him on some of my shorter runs. I run him up the street a few houses, but he isn't ready for anything longer, yet.
Jane's sister wants him. Well, really she wants a miniature just like him. So, don't be surprised......!
Anyway, it's late and I just got home this evening, so I'm off to bed.
DF & JF - Owners of California Yada, now Segunda

Hello Dana: Thought I'd share this adorable photo of Segundo showing off his newest trick! Gundo is such a quick study, and so desirous of doing what you want him to.... Except, of course, when he doesn't want to....:-) We have nicknamed him Gundoggle (as in boondoggle) in a nod to the (happy) upending of our household and lives he hath wrought! We love him!!! Hope this finds you and your family enjoying your summer.

Fondly,

Hi Dana,
I just wanted to give you a quick update on Ululani. She is everything we thought she would be and so much more! You matched her personality perfectly with what we desired. I couldn't imagine a more loveable and sweet girl. She definitely likes to play and can even be rambunctious at times but that is also what makes her so special. I have attached a few pictures so you can see what a beautiful dog she has become. She just turned 1 yr old this week. I saw that Dreamer just had a litter, it is hard to imagine that it has already been a year since Ululani flew (literally) into our lives!
Thank you for the wonderful gift we have in her!

Hi Dana,
We're doing great. It's been a busy weekend. Puppy is hanging in there very well. Friday afternoon, the girls were shocked! Puppy (we think she will be Casey) was nervous at first but as soon as she discovered the grass area in the backyard, she became very playful... tail wagging, jumping, running, but still a bit nervous inside the laundry room. The first night, not a whimper in the crate, but she did go pee by morning. Otherwise, she has already found her spot outside to potty, and it's working well.
Last night, we went over to a friend's house for dinner with puppy. Twice she went pee on the doormat. It didn't occur to me until this morning (when she went pee on my laundry room doormat) that she was considering the doormats "paper". So out with the doormat. This morning she barked for the first time. So cute. Also, she did not pee in her crate last night and bounced out without any help this morning. I can tell her tummy feels better today because she rolled over on her back for a belly rub.
K, my 7 year old, says that there is no dog more perfect for us than this puppy. My husband, J, is so happy with her disposition and size. I am so grateful to you for choosing so carefully.
Please do stay in touch. I'll do the same. Feel free to drop by announced or unannounced any time.
Take care,

JC - Owner of California Blossom, now Casey

Dana --
I keep seeing your friend P at Bob Guiterrez' "Better Way Dog Training" classes. She's really nice and tells me that Zubin is doing great. I know he's great without being told but not in the training dept so that's nice to hear.
He is wonderful and calming down out of his early puppy more frenetic bouts. I think we are going to train him to be a therapy dog going around to people in hospitals and homes to bring comfort. I'm really excited about this.
One day I was on a walk at Fort Funston with him and someone came by and said, "Is he from California Labradoodles?" In great surprise I answered "Yes, how could you tell?!" The person said you have a definite breeding style and it's evident. Apparently it is! Amazing!
We feel very lucky that our glorious dog came from you!
Hope all's well with you
happy holidays and New Year
best,

Hi Dana!
Thanks again for such a joy! We're having a ball w/Camille. She slept most of the ride home in my dad's lap; then we surprised all four kids & Camille was so excited; and now's she's quite tired and sleeping soundly. She ate a healthy dinner and has pottied & pooped right on que. She's really connected with our 10-year old C and also seems to have a soft spot for our baby B.
We'll keep you posted and send pictures soon.

Hi Dana-
Aubrey/Abbey is a love.
She had a nice car ride home and being home for the last 4 hrs she has been playful, curious and loving.
She did not eat much at all - in fact, she didn't eat at 4:15 when we arrived home - she ate a couple of bites of her food at 7:30. So, I will store that for tomorrow a.m. I have a fenced in area with newspapers, her v small crate, toys, a donut bed. We have her right now, however, in our family room while we watch Survivor. She is snoozing on her oversized family room doggie pillow (matches decor of course).
Pic attached.
She is responding to Annie's commands to 'Come' and Annie is teaching her the 'Wait' command (we Tivo 'It's me or the Dog') with treats of course.
More later-- thanks for such a loving pup.

Hi Dana!
We wanted to let you know how much we're enjoying Camille, and how much she's enjoying her new home. Her personality has really been on display over the last few days - sweet, smart, loving, playful, and very affectionate. She's quite a character. The kids are already very attached, as are J and I. We've included a picture below.
Hope all is well,

Hi Dana,
We wanted to send you a message to let you know that Buster had a good first night and morning with us.
He had a great first night with the family. He played very well with all of us. He is getting acquainted with his new surroundings and being very playful and inquisitive. We can tell how smart he is. He loves the girls and they love him. So far so good on my daughter's allergies, as well. We could not have asked for a better addition to our family.
He slept pretty much on schedule from about 9:30PM to about 5:30AM last night in his crate. He only whimpered and whined for about 10-15 minutes when we first put him in his crate.
He had a great time coming with the girls and me for drop off this morning, while I held him. He was a big hit with the girls friends.
He is so good with the kids and I cannot believe how much he loves people. The family is over the moon with Buster joining us.
I just wanted to let you know how it went on the first day and to thank you again so much. Have a happy holidays and we will provide you with more updates and pictures soon.
Warm regards,
D - Owner of California Buster |

Hi Dana & Anu,
Wanted to update you about tigger. Yogi and Tigger have become best friends. They played all evening and Yogi was very excited to have him and Tigger even more excited to have a Big Brother. In the late evening they both curled up in Yogi's bed. Yogi seemed to like Tigger's toys and Tigger liked Yogi's toys and bed. Now both are fast asleep.
My daughter was very excited and had all her friends come and visit tigger. Thank you both for this wonderful addition to our family. We feel truly blessed. Will send pictures soon of tigger sleeping on top of Yogi and cuddling up to him.

Hi Dana,
I wanted to provide you with another update on Buster. He is doing well. He checked out healthy at the vet. He will be getting his second round of shots on January 3. He is eating well and we have had to up his food portions. His potty training is progressing well. He is trying hard and everyday he has less accidents (Yeah!).
He continues to be good with the kids. He is such a well mannered puppy. We are helping the girls learn how to act around Buster, as well. Buster will be starting private puppy training classes with the family with SF Puppy Prep here in San Francisco this week. This place came recommended by many of our friends as a great place for private training, public training, dog walking, and dog socials in the city.
Buster is acclimating to the city sounds and smells very well. He has gone on daily walks through the neighborhood and is a big hit with everybody. He met his Labradoodle neighbor/friend (Sophie) this week. She is a 4 year old with all shots and they played so well together. She was so excited to see him and every time she sees him outside now, she calls for him to play with her.
I also wanted to let you know that we have referred at least 5 friends and other people already to your site.
I have attached a picture that we took middle of last week so you can see him. We will send another update after the holidays to let you know how things are going.

Hi Dana,
All is going well with Freddy. Tonight he was amazing. We weren’t sure whether or not to take him with us as we visited two different homes full of friends and family but he was under his best behavior for everyone and it turn out to be a wonderful evening. He snuggled a half dozen small children without biting a single finger. He played up to at least a dozen adults without biting a single one and he was the perfect gentleman… He even quietly rested while we ate our dinner. Everyone adored him and one couple even told me that they now have plans to shop for a labradoodle when they are ready to add to their family.
I’m attaching a few holiday photos.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
Best regards,

B - Owner of California Freddy

Thanks Dana.
I'm sorry you didn't receive my last email. It was a gushing email about how great Newton is! He is very calm and fits in wonderfully with our family. We love him!
Are all your dogs calm like this or did you select him with this trait for us since we requested it? I'm just curious because we think he's remarkable. Totally crate trained & potty trained since the first week. Crate training makes things so much easier and he really likes it. He gets at least two walks to and from school each day and we're socializing him with tons of dogs & people. We take him all over the place. Thank you for delivering such a wonderful pet to us.

With warm regards,

Just wanted to thank you again for all your understanding and your flexibility with Ava. She is just adorable. I have attached two photos. The one in her bed, she had taken every toy into bed with her and then fell asleep. The second one is M and her watching tv. Both seem pretty happy. Thank you for everything. I will be sure to keep you updated and feel free to email us also.

Hi Dana,
Well Ava had her second visit to the vet today. She is doing great!! First visit weighed 5 lbs. 1 oz. and today is weighing 6 lbs. 8 oz. She is adjusting well to her new home and we couldn't love her more. She walks on a leash (only in our yard) and will fetch the ball, most of the time bringing it back to us. She is such a love. I know you said she probably wouldn't make a great therapy dog, but she already is for me. She is just what I needed at the right time. She rides well in the car and enjoys outings with me. She goes for long walks to Starbucks, the children's park, my dental office and even to the senior facility my mom lived at. All in the stroller. I need a sign for the stroller that says she is not spoiled (much), just hasn't had her shots yet. The pictures I have attached are of some of our daily activities. I send them to Mike at work and he forwards them to her fan club. Everyone thinks she is the most adorable dog they have ever seen. Anyway, just wanted to give you an update and again to say thank you.
Blessings,

V - Owner of California Ava

What a wonderful little girl. We are so in love with her. Potty training a breeze, getting along with the ElderYorkie, wowed the vet and went to art class with me today. Goes for next puppy shots first week of May then we head for San Diego May 6. Our vet gave high praises for your program and thoroughness. Thanks again.

Hi Dana- I have been meaning to write you for a while but haven't gotten around to it. Juno (primadonna) just turned 2, and I cannot adequately put into words how she has added to our lives, especially mine. I am sure you don't remember but I had contacted you after our dog (a poodle mix) died suddenly at age 14. My mother had died several months before and I was still grieving that loss. Juno has brought happiness and companionship when I most needed it. You were right about her disposition- although she is very attached to me, she shares her affection easily with others. She loves running in circles at the park and yet is not at all hyper at home. I will send you some pictures separately--
Hope you are well- looks like from the website you are very busy.

Crystal is such a joy. Funny, loving and a bit ornery.....as well she should be. We love her. The "Dogfather" is getting her a swimming pool. ;-).
She sits, comes, goes "potty", goes to her bed,....all on command. She has filled the sadness hole from the death of my beloved Yorkie Cheo. Thank you so much for a wonderful program and the fabulous Aussiedoodle, Crystal. Let us know if we can help you in any way.

I wanted to send a quick update on Kaya (CA Cora). She is doing so so well!!!! I have relocated to San Francisco and she is loving life in the city! She has gone to the beach a few times and absolutely adores running around in the sand! She LOVES other dogs, big and small as well as most people she meets, whether on the street or friends/family.

Hi Dana,
We hope you had a nice Mother's Day. We went to the beach and it was pretty exciting as it was Daffy's first time there. She loved it so much!! It was a fun time watching her and C play together in the sand. Daffy would dig a hole and C would use the wet sand to make a sand castle. What a team! Again, she fits in so well with our family. She's everything we dreamed of and more.
She's such a love!! Will send more pictures. Oh, also removed the chew at night and she is settling well!!
Thank you,

Hi Dana,
Everything is going fine, we're going to try to take more pictures today so I could send them to you, otherwise I would have written sooner. We're in Carmel this weekend and we took her with us to dinner at the Monterey Wharf (in the pet front carrier). She got held by the secretaries in the front office at Gunn while I cleaned out my classroom, and they loved her. She likes the car rides in her car seat. She is doing well with potty training and eating well. The vet said she looked very healthy. We're working on chewing our toys rather than J and E's arms. We've decided to call her Toffee.

Just an update on our beautiful, wonderful girl. She is 6 months old and continues to amaze us with her loving temperment, intelligence and fun loving nature. She plays with Granny Yorkie so well and wins every heart who walks in our front door. My sister in law from Austin is already asking about your program.
Crystal weighs about 18 pounds and has lost all baby teeth but one. Her left top canine is still in....slightly loose. We wiggle it and check it often. Her coat is so soft and fleecy and is easy to care for. She doesn't smell like a dog ever and is so very attached to me...as I am to her. I went on a trip last week and she, Granny Yorkie and the Dogfather did fabulously. She is an amazing, wonderful family member.
So, Crystal from Texas says....."Thanks Y'all, for sending me to Texas!"

Dear Dana,
A seriously cute photo of Maverick..he is bigger now...a real loveable rascal!!! I will get more as a collection to send you...I just love this one because of the contrast to the black and white blanket! EVERYONE stops to smile and ask about Maverick...his coloring is a real eye-catcher! People have stopped their cars in the middle of the road to ask about him! An older lady at the beach asked if we "dyed our poodle"!!! Ha!!! I gently educated her about labradoodles and his gorgeous coloring that is "natural"!!! Hope all is well,Dana!!

Dear Dana,
We hope this greeting finds you and your family well. I thought I'd take a moment and forward you some holiday photos that we have taken of Ava over the past few months. M and I can't take Ava for a walk without being constantly stopped to be ask about her. In fact, yesterday we were in Sausalito and met a couple (M, WD and family from Texas) who absolutely feel in love with her. I gave them your contact information as they were so excited to possibly get a puppy like Ava. We spent quite a bit of time with them. I want to make sure that it is okay with you to give people your web site, that are interested. Please let me know.
Ava continues to make us smile on a daily basis. She is laying on the bed with Max (our cat in one of the photos) as I type this. It is their daily routine to sit on M's lap, as he has his morning coffee. M can't think of a better way to start his day off!! Again we can not thank you enough for our Ava.
We hope you and your family have a very blessed holiday season and all the best for 2012,

Hi Dana,
Just wanted to say hi and provide some current pictures of Max. He has been such a wonderful additional to our lives. He’s loving puppy daycare at Puppy Prep in San Francisco and tomorrow evening is his first official training class though he already knows up, down, sit, laydown, stand and such.
We are constantly being stopped in the streets by people who want to meet Max, pet him or know more about him. You may see an increase in clients from the Mission / Noe area. : )
